Chris’s background includes journalism and working at Parliament, including three years with the Minister of Tourism. In 2012 he joined Tourism New Zealand as a General Manager in charge of communications and government and stakeholder relations.
In 2014, Chris moved to TIA as Chief Executive. As the only national association representing all tourism sectors, TIA plays a key role is shaping the future of tourism in New Zealand. Along with his CEO’s responsibilities, Chris is on the Tourism Infrastructure Fund Panel, the Ministerial Working Group on Responsible Camping and the Board of Ngā Haerenga The New Zealand Cycle Trail Inc.
